Puerto del Sol Resort, Bolinao

After reading blogs and reviews online, we decided to stay here while in Bolinao . It was quite expensive for a resort but on second thought, we deserve it since it was my birthday celebration after all.

It was a long drive. But upon arriving at the resort, we knew that we chose the best in the area. Why? Here are the reasons...

as guests, we were treated to a welcome drink (iced tea) and a lei made of seashells
they have a well-manicured garden which boasts of blooming foliage all over

the staff were professional and attentive to our needs
I love that the pool has its own bar and there's a jacuzzi adjacent to it

Bolinao sunset is priceless. Best if you can commandeer their signature floating hut, like what we did...

Who can be grumpy in the morning while having breakfast with this view?

setbacks:

you're not allowed to bring food in the resort
food in the resto is a little bit pricey
our room is quite small than what I expected based on their rates
swimming in the beach isn't recommended as it is in low tide round the clock!

tips:

you may eat out if you find the resort food expensive. there are a number of food joints in the area
swimming can be best enjoyed at their public beach for free, Patar beach, which is a few kilometers away from the resort. no worries if you don't have a car because you can reach it also by flagging down a tricycle
while in the area, try to visit Cape Bolinao Lighthouse(2nd tallest in the Philippines), Enchanted or Cindy's cave and Patar beach
